  • Holy ****: Now what do I do?

So, bearings were bad in my idler pulley, no big deal. I decided to get a new one and try to replace it. I was told by a few people that the bolt that holds the pulley on is not reverse threaded. Mine was. Ended up breaking that off into the assembly. Then, I didn't have a drill or anything, so I figured I may as well replace the whole assembly for 60 bucks. Still not a big deal. I had a friend pick it up and bring it to me with some wrenches to replace it. After unbolting and removing the alternator and the coolant hoses and all of the bolts holding the assembly in, my friend decides that it would be a great idea to try to break the male part (actually part of the old assembly) so that we could remove it, because the seal was preventing us from getting off. The female part, that the coolant goes into via the male part, cracked bigtime instead. I have no idea what it's called or where to get it, but after putting everything back together and being pissed, I was correct in thinking that I would be leaking coolant pretty badly. HELP please. What is this part called? Should I take it in? JB Weld it? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

go get a engine manual so you have a guild to work with, I am not familier with a 3800 but area you were in sounds like it might be water pump. DON"T HALFASS it identify the part and go replace it. JB weld etc will only fail later at the worst posible moment.

I'll see if I can get some pics up. It's not the water pump, but the water pump is bolted to this part also.
