    Which injectors to buy?

    I need some new injectors to fix the problem plaguing my car since last July. After chasing a few other things with no luck, it was discovered I have a bad #4 injector.

    I have 30lb/hr in it now, but am going to upgrade to 36. I was told that the Ford Racing ones were good but I'm looking for second opinions. Not to mention, I don't know if I have to have a specific Ford one or if the regular 36lb ones will work in my car.

    I don't know anything about injectors and need to order them tonight so I can have a running car by the 4th so any input/opinions are appreciated.

    When I got my car tuned and it needed injectors my tuner recommended FAST 36# injectors. No complaints how the car runs from me !
    When in doubt, Whip it out !

      many use SVO 30's (redtops) without issue. car should be retuned for whatever you install though

        the ford injectors work just fine. i have used the seimans with no problems either. the key thing to find is a flow matched set of injectors and not only will your car run better but the tuner will be able to give you a more dead on tune. like 1badair sad you have to get re-tuned. here is some links to some places i use.

        I also like the fast injectors. but you have to get them flow matched

          I don't see any 36# injectors on fuelinjectorconnection for mine. Maybe I'm looking wrong.

          Are those Trick Flows flow-matched? If not, how do I flow match them? I have no idea what flow matching is...

              Dave has you set up with the correct link. i would get there contact info and call them. on another note flow matching is a sevice that alot of fuel injector companys offer. i wouldn't try to DIY.

                I ended up getting the Trick Flow ones from Summit. I need my car running by next weekend so figured that would be the fastest option and I think Trick Flow has a good reputation.

                Now I have to figure out if I can install them or if I have to wait until Tuesday for my mechanic friend to put them in.

                  there not that bad to install. just number your injector plug and use new o-rings and you will have it made in the shade.

                    The install was going ok for how stupid I am until I lost one of the injector retaining clips. Can I get by without one? It looks like it holds the injector in a specific spot but maybe it doesn't matter once the fuel rails are bolted down. Do they have a part number?

                      i wouldnt even start the car before its tuned if you change injector sizes

                          im not sure of the part number. but i wouldnt drive it without one. if the injector pops out you will have a certain fire your not going to put out. check with the just yard they will probleby charge 1.00 or something for one. or go to a GM dealer. what ever you do i would take the risk of driveing it. the question isn't if its going to pop out its when is it going to pop out and how hot will the exhaust manifold be.

                            That's what I was thinking. It's always something. It's been 10 months since I've driven it at 100% so a few extra days won't kill me at this point.

                              Part number for the retaining clips in 17112633 FYI in case anyone needs it for the future. Ended up finding some today.
