The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. My father bought a chips set from Superchips Inc. long ago and I was wondering if they would work in my 1985 z28 Camaro (v8 5.0 TPI). I was also wondering what each chip does exactly because I have never dealt with chips before, nor have I ever installed any. There are 3 total, labeled: 27C128, 27C256, and 27C512.
I googled each number, but nothing jumped out at me from the search results that I reconized; although I didn't dig that deep. My best advice is to call Superchips with your questions, they will ahve the best answers for you

What were the chips originally baut for if its for a tunedport car and you have tuned port I'm sure it will worck I had super chips make me a custom chip for my 83 TA that I did a 87 tunedport conversion on it had a big cam holly stealth ram intake big injectors and tons of other stuff it would reve 7000 rpm all day car ran great. The chips install easy just ground your self out before you touch the chip static is bad for them I'm gessing that there a stage 1 2 3 chip set not sure on the exact effects that these will have but I'm beting that you will see.

Doesn't look like the right chip set for an 85 to me....but it's been along time since I've seen them. Were they bought for an 85?
I believe he bought them for his 92 Caprice. I'm just trying to do a little research but they must have discontinued them or something because I can't find much info on them.

If they are for a 92 caprice they definately will not work.
I looked it up it was for a throttle body and you just confirmed it it will Probly fit but won't run rite Cus of the difference in injectors and many other things .

lol my dad wasn't sure but thanks for clearing that up. On the packaging it says "These easy-to-install plug-in chips control engine management for model year 1995 and older GM trucks and cars." That is why I was curious on whether or not they might work.
