gears and axles

i was wonder what i should run for gears and axles in my 4th gen rear i got my backing plates and stuff and my axles dont seem to be in best of shape they are all rusted like a mofo and i figured while i had some extra cash i should just replace them and if i am going to replace them i should get new gears too was wondering what you all think and suggest

With a T-56 Run 4.10's there the best you don't lose any gas mileage either they just make 6th gear more useful. If they made any 4.30 gears for a 10 bolt that didn't cost an arm and a leg I would say 4.30 gears mine are great. I just happen to be selling a set of 4 channel axle shafts if you decide you want to replace them.

I'm going with 3.90's in my auto car when I get around to it. I would do at a minimum 4.10's in a 6 speed car. 4.56's if you are performance based.

Seriously? Im into 3.42s now, and really miss the 3.08s, I lost a ton of mileage switching to them, I cant imagine 3.90s in an auto car, turning what 3-3500 going down the expressway?

not at all, my 3.73s are not but a few hundred rpms different on the expressway. OD and lockup are your friends. I just looked it up and the rpm difference from 3.23s to 3.73s at 70 mph is 200 rpms in 4th. 2400rpms instead of 2200

most defiantly wont be a good gear for a t56 with what you are planning on running. 4.10 would be an awesome gear for you to run, it will be a lot of fun as well.
