Any advantages from swapping 96 to 97 pcm???

One of the guys on this forum has a 97 pcm for sale, and I was just wondering if my 96 3800 camaro would benefit in any way from it. Any input?

I believe all the 96 and 97 PCM's are the same.


What kind of advantage are you looking for?

hmm i think they are identical.

my car is a 96 and I am getting tuned next week.

check out madtuner.com or pcmforless. they both tune 96 model years.

if you are talking about 3.8l PCMs from 96 and 97 cars, then yes they are different and if you plan on tuning your car, you will need a 97 pcm for your car. As for as just buying it and putting it in, stock vs stock the files are the same. You need hptuners to gain anything from the 97 PCM.
