  • How to maintain pop up headlights?

I was wondering if there is something your supposed to do to maintain the functionality of pop up headlights. Everytime I power mine up it kinda sounds......rough. Should it be a smooth sound when opening and closing or what? does it need lubrication? Nothing seems to be hindering them but it just doesnt sound very good :/ Am I paranoid?

There's just an arm connecting to them that you could lube up. Other than that it might be the gears in the box with the motor that drives them. Not sure if they were metal or plastic in the later years.

As far as I knew, they were all plastic from the factory... (Mine were, 2001)

So you could hit up b franker for some metal gears.... If there are stripped.

Yeah I'll try and lube the arm and see if that helps with the noise, now what kinda of lube should I use though?

Doesn't really matter, lithium grease may be your best bet.
