You're going to hate hearing this from me, but there's always a chance they may make that fuel line still. On the good side, it'll be at that shop's expense. On the bad, may be a couple/few days more wait. I'm not too sure if patching fuel lines is a good idea. Granted, I haven't attempted the Dorman thing, I've just replaced. The idea of fuel lines failing under the car around hot exhaust. Just doesn't seem like a permanent solution and you don't want it letting go while you're driving. Although, like I said, I haven't done the Dorman thing. You may want to try Rock Auto or similar to see if the lines can be ordered.

Sounds like you're talking about something like this:

yes, but it should be of Black Nylon similar to the fuel line.

Take a photo of the union so we can see exactly what your working with.

You can put clamps if you want, but you shouldn't need them if it's the correct barb, and its done correctly.

If you tried it, and it still leaks, dont dink around - have the shop order you a new line. It shouldnt be that expensive, and that's why they have insurance for their business.
