  • Parallel Fuel Rails.

So I guess the LT1 fuel rails like to drop off after 350hp, because the rails are series feed. Anyone do a Parallel Fuel rail setup?

I've heard some higher HP cars (500HP+) running into issues with the last injector starving for fuel & running lean with the stock 'series' set up & tiny crossover tube. I've also seen some cars that use the stock set up with a 'fabbed' bigger crossover tube. Here's the parrallel set up on my old car.

Yeah I think the easiest way I saw was weld in bigger fittings on the back and weld in fittings in the front put a cross over tube and a fuel pressure regulator in the middle of the cross over tube.

Theres your first mistake, believing anything you read about an LT1 in GMHTP. IMHO, those guys couldnt build an LT1 to save there ass, lol. With that being said, the only way I see a need to upgrade the fuel delivery set up is if your planing on running E85. We are planing on doing a split rail setup with an fittings in the back of the rails, into a Y, and than to the regulator for our E85 build. I ran a bolt on car with a 7psi procharger with nothing but a walbro fuel pump and a set of 42lb injectors. And I know that I was making over 400 rwhp, and that was through a STOCK intake and TB. Dont overthink everything. Find someone elses build which is running and performing similar to what you want and pick thier brain. Heck, ive been building cars for almost 20 years, and thats what im doing with my upcoming LT1 build.......................asking questions, and checking out other peoples setups. Eric L

              this.

fox - some of the things your are wanting to do is way overkill. None of us want you to be the next guy on this site that has an underperforming heads/cam car. god knows we already have our fair share of those

Hey, maybe he wants a wicked all out build that makes 275 hp to the rear wheels, and runs 14s............................................... .............hey.................................. .it could happen. Seriously though. For guys like us (I.E. everyone in this thread, and probably on this site) anything that we could want to do, or dream of doing has already been done by someone like Tanner, Brady, Hawk, Jordan Musser etc. No need to reinvent the wheel. Find a simple well thought out combonation, and copy it. Imaginative...........................no, effective, yes. AND WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT LISTEN TO AN OLDSCHOOL MACHINE SHOP THAT TRIES TO SELL YOU ON 9.5-1 COMP AND 3/4 RACE CAMS. Lol. Ive made my point, I can go now. Eric L

This is why I am asking questions. To make sure I don't over plan or underperform.

Its not even that. you still wont be able to copy them part for part and assembly techinque for assembly technique. There are a lot of negligible choices to be made that add up in the long run. we all have a few secrets that most of us wont ever really share with others. And you arent going to get it right on your first try. It might take a couple different head/cam combos til you really get it spot on. and remember, a peak dyno number means nothing. You need to build a car that gets down the track as effectively and efficient as possible. I see way too many LT/LS heads/cam cars that cant get out of their own way.

I would love to build a bolt on car one day that just flies for what it is. I am way more interested in a bolt on car running 11's than a nitrous stroker that runs 10's.

I agree 100 percent Ryan. But, ya got to start somewhere. Find someone running a similar heads/cam/compression combo and go for it. Heck, look at the differance between two cars, made on the same assembly line, the same year, with the same parts. IMHO, its one of the reasons why my 94 was as freakishly fast with the parts that it had as it was. Eric L

If I could ever do it over again I would throw a lot of boost at it. I am too far deep into the N/A game to change out now. I would have to change basically the entire drivtrain if I wanted to go boosted

agreed 100%. It takes a lot of money, but so does my N/A setup to get it to act the way I want it to
