The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. I have to do headers and Y, the new chris1313 intake, and a few suspension parts-SFC's, Adj. Panhard bar, and last a Dyno tune. I'll try to get it all done in one shop maybe it'll save me some $$.

Handful of members have had work done at Vector and at EVI both. Katech is a great shop too but I thought they primarily do work on Corvettes? Vector does the tuning for Katech.
I know they had a F-body for sale a few year back. A white camaro I believe.
I just want to make sure I have everything in order for the header install. I got the offroad headers, what should be done about the 02 sensors? The Y has cats but they're just for sound. So, I was thinking of getting the rear 02's tuned out. I've been reading about 02 wideband bung, what's that for and should I get it welded in my headers?
I also want to get it dyno tuned, what is a fair price for my car? Any other suggestion on mods I should do before I get it on a dyno? I was thinking of a ported tb where can I get it done for cheap?

Yeah that was the LS7 Camaro - they were the first to have a running and driving FBody with an LS7 engine in it. It was the shop car for awhile and then they sold it off. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Katech wouldn't turn good paying business away... A lot of companies have started to get picky, though... Like Livernois and Stenod. Livernois won't do LT1s and Stenod you have to do F/I for them to work on your car.

Normally offroad headers mean that there's no AIR or EGR crap on them - you'll still have a spot for upstream O2 sensors. If your Y pipe has no spots for O2 bungs, then you'll need to get simulators that plug into the plugs for the rear O2s ... I'm not entirely sure how the simulators hook up, though. Are you sure the Ypipe doesn't have any spots for O2s? My LPP y-pipe is offroad meaning it extends far enough that it deletes the catalytic converter but there was still 2 bungs on the Ypipe.
O2 Wideband will tell you your air to fuel ratio - it's how lean or rich your engine is running. It's up to you on whether or not you want to have a Wideband sensor installed - they're usually $200 but if you're an information nerd or plan to do your own tuning, then having the wideband is great. I'm an info nerd - I like being able to look at the AFR and make sure my air fuel ratio is good.
Check your y-pipe again and see if it really does or doesn't have the O2 bungs. If it does, you can plug them and still only run the upstream O2s and get rear O2 simulators. Then if you want the Wideband sensor you can use one of the rear O2 bungs that's already there for the wideband O2 sensor.

Thats not true at all. They work on all kinds of cars. They just built the exhaust for my buddys LS1 Wrangler the other day. They also have a few of the best tuners in the area working for them.

So Vector motorsports wants $435 for a dyno tune. Everyone says that's too high for a bolton car....any opinions/suggestions?
At the same time I know a few people who have had their cars tuned there and vouch for them like crazy so I feel comfortable with my baby in their hands.
Dyno tunes are not cheap - try talking to Steve and see if he'll do a street tune for you. If your car is already done, maybe he can street tune it during the week and you can squeeze into the dyno day on August 7th for $50 and then you'd have the tune AND the dyno results.
I stay in Detriot though so an hour drive plus $50 dyno. I'm stuck between a rock and hard spot lol. I guess I'm just going to just have Steve tune it at vector.
A complete dyno/street tune is not cheap and it's the best way to go if you want the most power and the best drivability.

I stay in Detriot though so an hour drive plus $50 dyno. I'm stuck between a rock and hard spot lol. I guess I'm just going to just have Steve tune it at vector.
I can do the street tune for 250.00 in PH or a dyno tune at vector, or we can street tune it and I can make 3 runs at vector for 75$ either way im more than happy to tune the car, just let me know either way.

Sounds like $325 would be a winner here! Let steve street tune it then strap it on the dyno!
