  • What shops in Detroit do you recommend? Tuners?

Well I just recently got my hands on a 02 trans am that's mostly stock. Current mods are: slp lid, bbk shorty's, and LMII exhaust. I want to do a few more bolt-ons and get a solid tune. First up on my list is ARH long tubes with a catted Y and the chris1313 ram air (ls1tech)

Where can I go to get these installed by someone who does a clean job and has decent prices? The ARH, from what I've heard are like the easiest headers to fit on.

I also need a tune very badly. A member on ls1tech who was kind enough to scan my car showed bad AFR, timing, and some other things wrong with the tune. I'll need it even more when I do these mods. I'm getting like 14-15 mpg driving like ms. daisy.

Please if you know any shops that won't break the bank let me know!

I always recommend Steve @ SB Tuning in Port Huron - he's a sponsor on here and does street tuning. If you want a dyno tune, he dyno tunes for Vector Performance in Clinton Township. He tuned my car which is why I always recommend him to everyone - did a great job and my car runs awesome.

I've met Steve before - he's a real good guy, and can definitely tune, as seen by how well Brian's car runs.

Many, many things leading to him not being a sponsor anymore...

yep please stay away from Sean collins, there are several people here that had bad experience with his tuning capabilities.

Not even the tuning abilities - driving down the freeway and finding out that they didn't tighten your lug nuts and you only have 1 nut left holding your wheel on........

You can find them for good deals if you shop around. I'd love to let you borrow ours for some free work in trade but my pile is still taking up the space.

Handful of members have had work done at Vector and at EVI both. Katech is a great shop too but I thought they primarily do work on Corvettes? Vector does the tuning for Katech.
