  • i got a truck and it wont start no more :(

alright i just bought a 1988 chevy 2500 with the 350 in it but the engine is from 87 and i drove it home from cadillac ok, but now it doesnt want to start. the fuel pump was clicking so i figured it was bad so i got a new one, took it around the block with some starting fluid then it stalled right when i got back, when it did run, you had to like feather it just right in order for it to get up and go, or else it wanted to stall out. so i was wonder if you thought a pressure regulator was the problem, because the guy said it still needed one, and i just want the darn thing to start and drive like a normal car/truck. its a tbi system so if anyone has any solutions, just let me know i would really appreciate it lol.

Run some Seafoam and replace the pressure regulator. Went on a buddies Sierra and it wouldn't run at all. Starting fluid would let it run for a few seconds but then it that would get burned up and it would die.

i would try the sea foam but i found that everytime i press on the throttle i hear a vacuum noise somewhere near the carb, and the harder i press it, the louder it is. and if i press it really quick it dies lol. i have no idea thought

Find the vacuum leak and fix it, replace the fuel filter, and clean the TB. Don't run seafoam if the truck has high mileage or smokes at all on startup, it will make the smoking worse.

carb cleaner, spray it in different areas and the engine will idle higerwhere there is a vacuum leak
