Ok so I havnt had AC in years. So I bought a recharge kit & gave it a go. Did everything I was supposed to & charged it. Wasnt blowing cold air. But the pressure gauge back on to check PSI (after driving home) & was at 0. Was about a 2min drive home. So Ifigure I have a leak somewhere. Another thing, no airflow through vents just to the floor on all settings. Its been like that forever. In winter same thing, to the floor..What would cause that? Im no A/C expert so Iwouldnt know where to start.

normally default is defrost if there isnt any vacuum but make sure the vacuum line is hooked up from the engine to pass compartment.
those recharge kits suck. first if is empty it needs to be pulled in a vacuum.
second those handy dandy gauges that come with them that show low, good, high or whatever are supposed to be read with the compressor running

X2 there. When I got the new motor in, that's one thing we "passed over". As soon as I got it hooked up, all controls worked. As far as general AC, I'd be inclined to check the condensor first.Originally posted by 1BADAIR View Postnormally default is defrost if there isnt any vacuum but make sure the vacuum line is hooked up from the engine to pass compartment.sigpic

For the air blowing out to the floor - there's a vacuum canister inside the passenger wheel well (you'll have to remove the passenger wheel well cover) right by the horns.

there is a cheap a/c leak repair thats suppose to seal a hole but you cant put it in without refridgerant or it will seal up the service port aswell, the seminar on it seemed to show it worked well. worth a shot before spending big bucks, or use some dye to find the leak(s) as wellsigpic
