Engine Ticking Noise!!!

    Engine Ticking Noise!!!

    This morning when I started the car I heard this weird noise. I found some videos on youtube with the exact noise that's coming from my engine. Any suggestions in order to fix the problem or its time for an engine rebuild? do you guys know any good shops that can rebuild an engine and what's the price range for something like this?

    UPDATE : I manage to solve the problem. Seafoam + a lot of smoke and the car is running like a champ

    Well both cars, for being 3800's, have low oil pressure, they should sit at about 60lbs on the nose at idle.

    Cant be 100% certian what the noise is, but I will tell you that back when I had my monte carlo with a 3.4 in it, I started it one day and it made that noise, turned out being the lifters. I cant recomend this, but I had nothing to loose - We mixed a quart of trans fluid in with the oil to "clean things out" my dad and his friends are old school. Ran it for a while, changed the oil, and bam, problem solved. I have since sold the car, but I know the kid that owns it, hes put over 50 thousand more miles on it, without a single problem.

      I was reading about some "Seafoam" that people use to clean their engine. I think I'm going try the seafoam for now and if it fails I'll look for a shop that deals with rebuilds and do that. Thanks for the info Spencer
