  • weird noise coming from the back end of my car need help...

so i drove my car yesterday to my bank every thing was running fine than after parking for a couple of mins i start it back up and there was a loud whinny noise coming from the back end of my car. i drove it home no probs parked and let it set for a couple of hours went back out to figure out what it was a it sounded like a gear was free spinning in the gas tank. i think it has something to do with the fuel pump. and ideas why it would be making this noise.

Sounds like the fuel pump is on it's last leg.

Definitely sounds like the fuel pump is getting ready to go. . . Mine makes a whining noise any time the fuel level goes below 1/2 tank.

for some reason some slp exhausts randomly make like a whistle/electric motor running noise when the air pump is on

              Really? Never had the problem...yet.

Flip the key to the on position without starting the car. How does the pump sound when it primes?

yea when i turn on the car to the on position u hear it kick on and get the fuel to the motor but its nothing that out of the ordinary.

Yet when you start the car up you hear it making the goofy noise?

Hook a fuel pressure gauge up to the fuel rail and see the initial PSI and then the constant when its running. You'll have to look up the specs though. It's been too long, I don't know them off hand.
