Heater hose routing question (post HVAC delete)

Ok, so I've deleted the A/C and heating from my 1996 Z28 and I have a wierd question about the hoses now. The feed and return hoses to the water pump that used to run to the heater core - can you just cap these outlets off at the water pump or do you have to loop the hoses together now?
I'd like to remove the clutter of extra hoses that I don't logically need now but I also don't want to cause any overheating issues with this. Can they just be capped off?

They can be capped. If you go to the HELP! section in any auto parts store look for them.
They make all different sizes, I used them when I did my engine swap until my ls1 heater hoses came in.
