Phoenix Rising, mentioned in the other thread, (Then and Now), that he had never seen a hood made that way before. So I am going to try to show the preocess step by step, mostly through pictures.....1st through 7th pic is the start of the scoop layout using closed cell foam. The closed cell foam is used becuase you can use resin and bodyfillers right over the top of it, without it melting.
The next 2 pics in this series are of the final stages of the bodywork on the scoop. I used a sprayable body filler in the last stages because it is somewhat self leveling and sands really easy.
This was all layed out on my original steel hood, closely following the lines and contours so that the finished product would look like it belonged there and not just set on top.....Now the"Plug" is done and on to the mold making process.
