  • Win7 and TTS Datamaster

Has anyone used Datamaster on Win7 yet? I've done 5 recording sessions and it only registered the 1st one - it still says I have 19 sessions remaining. The first time I ran it I couldn't get it to record unless I used "Run as administrator" but after that time it's worked fine just opening it normally - but I've also noticed when I run it normally it doesn't "count down" my recording sessions. My theory is that somewhere in Win7 if the program is ran normally (IE: You don't right click and select to run it as administrator) that it must not have the permissions/ability to edit the registry and make the change to count down how many recording sessions you have remaining...

PS - I'm not trying to promote illegal use of the software and honestly plan to purchase a license once I get closer to the 20-use limit.

I thought Win 7 rc was Win 7 pro just with a timer?

What did they change after the rc came out?

Nope. Windows 7 RC is Windows 7 Ultimate RC with a timer. In March 2010 it will only run for two hours at a time, then prompt you to save your work, and it will shut down.

why run datamaster on anything but win 98? i have an old ass toshiba laptop i have my datamaster and C.A.T.S on. i tried running it on Vista but it was epic failure, works amazing, no issues and works every time on win 98 so what im saying is go buy a 50 dollar cheap old laptop and run the software on the propper opperating system...

Obviously it runs fine, it just doesn't record the amount of times used...

Did you even read my post, Don? I'm saying you can run the trial Datamaster software indefinitely on Win7. I'm not saying go buy Win7 to run it, but if your laptop already has it [like mine] then why spend 50 dollars to go get a cheap old laptop and be frustrated with how crappy the laptop's performance is?
