Our 98 Pontiac Transpot Montana needs a new Lower Control Arm w/Ball Joint on the drivers side. We have been having some vibrations in the front end and finally got it to Belle Tire to see why and they told us this part needed to be replaced due to a loose bolt causing excess wear and tear.
Belle Tire wants to charge almost $257 for the control arm, labor, and thrust angle alignment (what ever is.) I asked the guy if it was a hard part to replace and he said it's not if your mechanically inclined.
So what I'm wondering is how hard is it to replace, what tools are needed, and what is a thrust angle alignment? Or should I just wait till I have the money and have Belle Tire do it.
