was just wondering cuz i can get the lt1 out of the caprice for 200.00 and thought that would be worth it just to play with it ?? no??? he said it did spin a rod bearing but dont really care if im going to stroke it anyway

the caprice engines are iron heads and the cam has slightly less lift/duration.

    fbody engines are aluminum heads.

both 2 bolt mains, same intakes.

Iron heads flow slightly better, however whatever performance gain would be sacrificed for the weight difference between the 2.

The only difference I know of is that the TA LT1 has aluminum heads and the LT1 from the Caprice has iron heads. Would be a great base though.

You could stroke the Caprice LT1 and just swap your aluminum heads over when you're done if you're not driving your car during the swap. Of course there'd have to be some time aside to do porting/polishing though.

I wouldn't do it. For all you know you could get it aprat and it coulb be a baby Lt1. I can't remember exactly, but I think they were right around 305 CI

Less - they were 4.3L. however that might not matter if he is stroking it anyway.
