  • NEW bigger Problem!!

So i was driving around today and i hear a loud squeal coming from the rear. At first i thought it was my rear speakers. I got home and i could hear it coming from under the car. So i poke my head under and it seems like its coming from the drivers side rear. I shut the car off and when i go to start it. Right before i turn the car on i heard what sounded like an "air leak"?

I have no idea what this could be. Any help narrowing it down? I just replaced my fuel filter could i have loosened something up? I checked around the filter and NO GAS.

Definitely need some help!! I just hope its not the fuel pump!!

As much as I hate to say it, it could be the pump going out. Does it just happen for a few seconds when you turn the key to "ON" then go away?

YUP it will do it for a few seconds then stop. It will whine when i'm driving but go away when i accelerate.

How much am i looking at to have this replaced? If i do replace it should i go OEM or upgrade? Can i drive it like it is? Or am i taken a risk drivin' it?

Yes i do have LM's but it has never done this before. I was leaning toward the pump but was hoping it could be something else!!

If it goes away after a few seconds with the car off and then is continuous when the car is running its the pump.

while i just went and turned the key. Didn't make the noise and the pump ran liike it did before. Started it and no whine.

Let the car idle for awhile. I know of a bunch of people with the lm pump noise. Behind the car the noise sounds like it's coming from the exhaust

If you fix the fuel pump replace it with a walbro 255lph, you can get them for right around $100 and its a pretty easy install

If your gonna drop in a walbro 255lph (which I highly recommend) you will NEED a better wiring harness because it will draw more power. I would buy the complete racetronix kit for $250 and trap door it, it can be done in like 3 hours easily.
