  • Squeaks

Alright i'm getting really upset with the rear of my car, NOT rearend. She squeaks and rattles at every small pot hole or dip in the road. Anybody got any ideas?

I have tried tightening everything but nothing seems to stop it!

It almost seems like the exhaust maybe hitting the car? But there is definitely something else going on back there.

My car squeaked all the time - probably your bushings and what not.

sway bar bushings and end links can. Can you get it to do it just pushing on the car?? If so spray anything rubber one at a time and see if it goes away or gets better. Replace that.

hey thanks guys keep them a coming. I had my mech. look at it last year when i bought it. He said he had to tighten everything up a bit but there was still a few squeaks he couldn't track down. Said it would take a few more hours to get it just right but i had to take the car.

MAYBE I'LL INVEST IN SOME SOUND D!! and ill try the silicon/wd40 when i get time.

nope can't really here much when i hit the gas. It only doesn't it when i hit a hole or a bump.

I do remember now that the previous owner installed different shocks and sub frames. Do you think it could be the stocks? I'm pretty sure when i push the rear down it will squeak. Hope that helps.

I always thought squeks was part of owning a 4th gen. My car has 150k miles too many to worry about it, keep us updated though. My Grand Prix squeks like hell.

haha yup i now there's suppose to be some squeaks...but this sounds like something is either very loose and just clunks around and then there is also a squeak...I have to take a day and look over everything and see whats up.

if it like clunks... i believe that its a shock in the rear... my moms grand am did that sounded bad over pot holes and stuff and it was the shocks and struts
