Does anyone have any good information on Data Logging?

My OBD port didn't work when Steve came over - Tuner CATS couldn't get a signal from the PCM. So I figure if I load some basic data logging software on my laptop then I can test the OBD port as we work through the wiring.

Does anyone know of any free data logging software specifically or a good thread about the subject? Dan let me borrow an AKM cable so I do have a cable to plug into the OBD port.

I have always heard of HPTuners being good, but have no other experiences.

There is some stuff called Free Scan.
      It's free

Datamaster will let you do 20 free scans before you have to pay to unlock it.

I have issues with my ECM port talking to my computer also

Yours was a complete engine swap too wasn't it? I remember you mentioned yours is a clone - was yours originally a firebird?

Check near the bottom. I use PCM scan, but I have OBDII. OBDII software on top and OBDI on the bottom.

Thanks guys. I'm definitely not going to take anything away from Steve on this, I just need something to be able to test and make sure my OBD connection is straight before I bring the car to him.
