Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

I finally got around to removing my MS3 cam out of my old LS1 that most of you know busted a ringland and wreaked all kinds of havok. Just posting some pics so I know if this wear is excessive and the cam needs to be replaced or not because I was planning on using it in my LS2 build.
Ok so I looked over the camshaft again today and now I'm worried Sorry for the horrible pics this camera is super old and doesn't have a portrait function
Its got a small gouge in it which looks to be cause by the lifter but isn't the cam harder than the lifter??? Would I damage anything using this cam again???

Well I talked to Patrick G and he says if you can feel it with your fingernail, which I can, then its dagaed and cannot be reused I'm really upset because now I have to pay $425 just for him to spec out a new and better cam that will make the car that much faster. Its a sad and happy time, now just gotta get some more cash.
You might be able to have it taken out if it's not to bad by an engine shop.

that was my next question could I have it possibly polished out??? I have it set up right now and with a indicator I'm reading a half thousandths to maybeeee 3/4 of a thousand difference. My question is how is a lifter that is flat across going to be affected by that minimal difference if its undersized, why wouldn't the other 95% of the lifter surface just stay above it???
