Took the car to the shop today.. Having an 8 point chrome moly roll bar installed with 5 point harness's as well. Bar will be painted to match my car and clear coated. Can't wait to see it done(probably early next year).. Drove the car without insurance to drop it off, it was the first time driving it with the new rear sway bar.. Wow, what a difference, I should be able to get both wheels up next year!!!
Time to save for a 12 bolt...

I know what the rule book says.. It won't be truly legal by the rules, but most times they won't check that deep. I can still change my mind, I have time.. Are removables even legal?Originally posted by WMCCjames View PostDid you check the rule book on the placement for the door bar.....it has to fall within a certin zone to be legal.sigpic

Haha that's freaking hilarious. A month ago you said you'd keep it under the limit so you wouldn't need a roll cage and here you are getting it installed. Good move, man, the roll cage will look freaking awesome when finished!- Brian Meissen

Just called the shop, going with a swing out for the doors.. They are NHRA legal to 8.50 and saves me from crawling over the bars when street driving...Originally posted by WMCCjames View PostDid you check the rule book on the placement for the door bar.....it has to fall within a certin zone to be legal.
Thanks, agreed...Originally posted by Boost Addict View PostNice Larry, should look good painted the same as your car.

Good choice Larry....if you are doing a cage to be legal, it doesn't make much sense to not do it legally...know what I mean. A low slung door bar screams out "not legal"..... You'd still get the benifits of the bar but at that point you could tie the car together with a sill bar and never have it in the way.sigpicTurbo Charged LS1/T56

Yeah, going with the swing outs(just called the shop).. Man, that sway bar is unbelievable!!! I didn't get on it much because I have no insurance, even drove there with my windows down to hide the tint..lol But as soon as I started backing out the driveway I could feel that damn thing... Can't wait to hit the track next year!!!Originally posted by 1BADAIR View Postalmost impossible to get in an f-body with legal door bars. swing outs are legal.
so you like that drag bar?
Yeah I thought about it after your other post and it made sense.. Why hope you'll pass tech and be legal after spending a small fortune, just do it right and know you're legal..Originally posted by WMCCjames View PostGood choice Larry....if you are doing a cage to be legal, it doesn't make much sense to not do it legally...know what I mean. I have another surprise going in while it's apart, but I'll save that one for myself till it's done!!Last edited by OIF1VET; November 13th, 2008, 05:26 PM.sigpic
