Yes, the smoke does mean that. The more smoke, the more shit cleaned out.

I still haven't changed the oil, it was too dark when I went out to do it, and I couldn't find my oil filter wrench. . . Gotta buy another one tomorrow or Thursday.
Update: There wasn't much smoke out on the road, but I did follow the directions precisely. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to stall the car out, and it took longer than expected to get the car to shut off. . . It wouldn't shut off right when I turned off the key, it kind of sputtered before it died. Started up normally after that with a bit of smoke, but not too much. The "Spirited Drive" wasn't as spirited as I'd have liked, but that was because the police were out in full force. . . I romped on it alright though. Car feels stronger, and since I filled it up, I've driven about 65 miles so far, and the gas gauge is still reading higher than 7/8 tank. Gas mileage is definitely improved already.
The car also feels like it has more power, I'm still dealing with a slow throttle response, but that's due to an exhaust leak that I've known about for a while. It was VERY apparent that there's something up under the hood when I added the seafoam to the intake, as blue smoke came pouring out of the right rear of the engine, probably from the EGR or from the previously mentioned leaking exhaust manifold gasket . . . No matter, it's going to be gone when I get a set of Pacesetter LT's without EGR/AIR provisions. . .
Off topic, but I'm asking anyways. . . How am I supposed to get to the EGR at the back of the engine to put on the EGR block-off plates? Do I have to pull the heads? I just looked back there today, and there's no room to fit a ratchet back there.Nick H.

As you will learn in putting new headers on there is almost zero room in these engine bays. You have to get very creative with the way that you get to bolts in there. Although, I had almost zero problems popping my EGR to test it, probably took me 5 mins. Just a inspection mirror and a torx bit? I think it was.Originally posted by 93formulalt1 View Post

From what I can tell so far, it is really helping my gas mileage. I'm not going to really notice an improved throttle response until I get a set of headers on there, since the manifolds are leaking at the gasket, so there's a pretty bad hesitation taking off right now. I'm in the middle of changing my oil right now, just got the filter off (with my bare hands, couldn't find an oil filter wrench). I'll have it filled up and on the road in about 10 minutes. I found what looks like a minor oil leak under there. . . I'll be tracing that one around for a while. It could be a leaking trans pan, though. Whatever it is, it's going to be fixed this week as well. I can't tell exactly where it's leaking, it seems to be dripping from the crossmember and oil pan, so I think it may be a leak at the oil pressure sender.Nick H.

Well, I just took the car for a drive. . . I'm not impressed with the car right now. It's obvious that there is something wrong with it, it's got what I think is a lifter tick, it's got the exhaust leak that I knew about, and it's got a leaking valve cover gasket. I'm not sure what to do about the ticking, but the rest is going to be pretty simple. Maybe I have an excuse to get a set of heads. . . lolNick H.
