    are they any differences between an f-body ls1 and an ls1 out of an escalade?

      You know someone the other day that has a escalade was telling me that his had a LSX

          LQ series, usually a 6.0 litre option.

              It depends, if it's a 2WD Escalade, it will only have the 5.3L in it. Only the AWD gets the 6.0L engines, at least for the GMT800 Escalades.

                THem are the 6.0 iron blocks guys use to make 408's??

                  yeah, they are not LS1's, they are either 5.3L vortec (sierra/silverado 1500, yukon, yukon xl, avalanche, envoy, trailblazer, etc.) or 6.0L vortec (escalade, denali, sierra/silverade 3500, etc.). none of them are 5.7L, and i change oil on all these vehicles all day long.
