  • looking for some ls2 info

i'm gonna be doing the 6.0 lq9 (iron block) with l92 heads with the l76 intake. just looking for some more info i can't seem to fine

the lq9 has flattop pistons but i'll be taken them out and boring the block .030 over, looking for a setup to keep my c/r safe to run 93-94 octane.

i've also thought about looking into strokeing it, i've been doing some searching on ls1tech/ls2.com but not finding alot of combos

    any help would be nice

The L92'S have a large 72cc cumbustion chamber which would drop your compression but since your replacing the slugs and going .030 over your compression should come back up. I'm not an expert but from my experience you should still be in the safe range for pump gas. Even if it's a little lower it should still make great power with the right tune. If you went with a stroker crank that would change everything because you are increasing the swept area of the cylinders and raising the compression.
I guess the real question is how much power are you lookin for

i'm looking for a "streetable" car from what i read on that gm performance site they were make upwards of 500+hp with out strokeing it so i thoght about forgetting the stroker kit and saving some $# to put it else where.

this build i'm going to do slow so i'm starting now

i'd like something around that area of 500whp, i would like to run some kind of nitrous setup for the track or somethin, so i'm thinking the bottom end should be forged since i dont know how strong the stock stuff is, but i figure if i got the right setup i would be ok.

not sure what type of headgaskets i should use, i've used felpro on a few of my turbo cars and never had a problem with 10-15psi.

theres just so much i don't know i kinda feel like a total noobe again

trying to find out whats the max a iron block can be bored

i have been googleing the past couple weeks and i've read of guys running thinner gaskets and milling the heads but they never give the info on the results
