  • What is each engine worth?

    Hey guys,

I found a deal on an LT1 motor 90K, 4L60E 10K, PCM, and wiring harness for $1200. Needs Water Pump and possible rebuild. Is this a good price.

Also, if I chose to do this swap. What could I get for my motor / trans? 3800 II 95K and 4L60E 4 sp.

If I can get enough for my motor, I will try and snag that LT1 I found.

    Thanks!

if that motor is in good health (doesnt need a rebuild) then thats a good price. otherwise no. LT1s arent that hard to find. it should be in good health yet with only 90k and in front of an auto... unless its lived its life at the drag strip or hasnt been maintained.

I wouldn't even give them 500 for a motor that needs a rebuild

I would offer them 800.00 for the whole match and see what they say

You could have as much as 500 in engine work if it needs to be bored at all.

        Just my opion.

Now if its the whole motor, Intake to Pan 500 is good.
Comes with a tranny and computer, 1000.00

+ 1, then if it did need a rebuild you'd have a brand new motor

Considering what cores are worth, it might be a good buy. If you know it has to be rebuilt I would try and get it for less.

I would go and take a look at it
If you know what to look for...then do it
Tell him to at least have the heads off so you cna look and see what shape its in....

If it looks clean, grab it thats a good deal...

Just a thought. Check out a local cab company that uses or used old Caprice cop cars. They usually have LT1's laying around. I used to buy them from Checker cab in Detroit for $45. Not running of course. Runners went for about $200.00.
