it was around 5k for the whole shortblock with stroker and all included in the price and installed. So 5k for a stroked shortblock that just needs heads/intakes to be complete.

That 850 price did not include the stroker kit. That is extra

      5K for a v6 shortblock? 8-O

Can't you get a low mileage LS motor for that?

it puts out close to the same as a ls motor (about 30hp less) and it is forged/billet i.e. bulletproof v6 ready for anything you throw at it including a 200+ shot of nitrous or 20+ lbs of boost. Also the complete 4.2l shortblock is shipped from australia which adds to the cost I imagine since the stroker kit itself is like 2500. They could probably build a shortblock for ya cheaper instead of one from the parent company in australia

Plus a ls1 swap is pretty indepth with changing all the needed things like wiring, kmember and such. Then you got the v8 insurance on top of it.

Wait, let me make sure we are on the same page. If i want a complete 4.2l shortblock they have to ship it from australia, or i can get a new shortblock and have them build it at the Ohio place? Is all of this on the site or do I have to call?

you can do either. If I were you I would have them just put it in your current engine or find a spare motor somewhere for cheap. It would be cheaper to let them build one in ohio than to have an already made one sent and paid for. Just figure like 300 for a spare motor, 850 for disassembly/assembly, and then 2800 for stroker kit. Then get some P&P heads/intakes from abbotts racing and that thing will scoot!

I have about 75000 miles on the car so I would say that the engine is good to go.

just get the supporting mods and bolt ons done first, then start thinking of a stroker though.

Not to be mistaken, I still want to get the rebuild done. I was just saying that since the engine has 75000 miles it should be in good condition for a rebuild with the add ons. Thanks a lot man, you've been a lot of help. I will surely be looking for you when I have questions about other mods.

no problem. Just get intake, exhaust, probably gears/lsd if you don't have them already and then fuel upgrades and Hptuners and you will be ready for a stroker. Then suspension upgrades will be needed then too. $$ adds up no matter what when you wanna go fast.

Hey I am not embarrassed at all. I like being the underdog and catching people off gaurd. Plus insurance is cheaper for having something putting out the power of a v8
