Welcome to the Michigan FBody Association website.
The Michigan FBody Association is a centralized website for FBody enthusiasts to discuss what's going on in the Michigan area. MiFbody.com was created to allow for an easy one-stop place to find out what's going on in Michigan as far as FBody events, to find out what clubs are available in your immediate area, and for an easy place to post classifieds for items you want to sell! Our goal was to create a more close-knit community of FBody enthusiasts in the state of Michigan, and to bring Camaro and Firebird enthusiasts alike together for some amazing FBody events!
The most important thing to know about the Michigan FBody Association is that we are NOT a club! The Michigan FBody Association is open to everyone, and is a community. Thus, we will have get togethers, casual cruises, events, and such like that, but this is not an exclusive club and it's 100% free to join this site! So what are you waiting for? Register now!

1998 Trans Am aka Winter beater
Alright James Very nice. i am getting excited to see that thing (or do it myself). Do you know where another one is cheap.
So did you move it at all. To check the trans out?
What driveshaft did you use. Stock one work out ok.
Also what modifications did you do to get the T56 in the 3GC
Okay Dan...here ya go
Moved the car 3 feet yesterday....trans went into first and reverse...I then stopped becuase I realized I need to re-bleed my brakes.....way soft pedal
Stock drive shaft works fine when you convert to a T56....only mods needed are cutting the hole in the trans tunnel for the shifter, making a cross-member and finding a way to get the VSS signal to the speedo. Oh, and a set of 4th gen pedals bolts in fine without too much fuss...just enlarge the 4 bolt holes slightly.

Gary...yep you can drive it!
Do you have any pics of the cutting the hole in the tunnel.
Making a cross member. That could take a few days. Got any pics?
Yea what did you do for the VSS signal when the speedo is cable driven?

I don't have any pics of the hole or the crossmember....I originally swapped in a T56 about 3 years ago, unfortunately all those pics are on my old computer which is long gone now. It's really not rocket science though if you have some 1/4 inch flat stock and a welder handy......you can even buy a conversion cross-member now from Spohn. As for the shifter hole...I just bolted up the trans to the motor and jacked the rear of the trans up until it hit the tunnel, maked it with a sharpie and cut it out with a high speed cut-off wheel.
As for the VSS...I am using a Abbott Cable X-box. It takes the VSS signal and spins a stepper motor which you hook your speedo cable up to. Works pretty slick for us old school speedo guys.
