  • LS into '94 firebird, what radiator hoses?

I'm finishing up my swap right now and trying to make sure I've got all the parts I'll need. does anyone know if I'm using the stock (LT1) radiator and a stock LS/fbody water pump, what radiator hoses will i need to use? I've got stock LT ones now but if i need something else i want to get it now!

    thanks guys.

Probably wont be an off the shelf part. Ive heard the LT1 radiators are better but you might need some fancy flexible braided stainless or something generic like that to make it work.

I have an LS1 Radiator if you need it. Bought it basically for the fans lol.

i want to keep the LT radiator because they are more efficient than the LS ones.

@Curt_irocz do you have this swap done?

You need the ls hoses. The radiator inlet/outlets are the same as the lt. But the engines are where the differences are if any. My 94 had a steam line in the upper hose. The ls has this fitting on the radiator.
How are you going to block off the heater hose conection in the lt radiator?

              awesome! thank you.

is the heater hose connection the small port in the bottom that needs to be capped? my car didn't have heat so it might already be blocked.

Yeah, one of the heater hoses on that setup goes to the radiator. On the ls, they both go to the heater core. Lt steam line goes to a fitting on the upper radiator hose, on the ls there is a fitting on the radiator. While the lt radiator is a whole 1/8th of an inch thicker, the ls radiator makes for a cleaner install in a swap, if you have both to chose from. In my opinion. The lt will work easy enough, especially if the heater hose is already blocked off

we got it in with he LT rad and LS lines today but it's overheating. fans aren't kicking on at all, i think that might need to be turned on in my tune because it's a truck ECU.

                    Yes, trucks didn't get e-fans until 2007 I believe

Edit: HP tuners can enable the fans in the truck OS, not sure if it can update the PCM to the 00-02 Fbody OS. I'll have to look that up real quick and if it would take additional credits.
