  • Need some suggestions for power.....

Hello everyone, I was hoping to get a little advice if I could? Let me start with just a bit of history on my car. I traded a $6000 ATV for what I was told was a 94 Z28 with a new LT1 and M4. The car is spotless and straight as an arrow, not one spot of rust or body damage anywhere on her. Well, me not knowing much about the F Bodies went and looked at it. It looked even better than the pics I was sent. Fast forward to today....I recently did some checking of the VIN and RPO codes which I should have done before I traded for it. Anyways, it turns out that my "94 Z28" was in fact Vin'd as a base 94 Camaro with the V6. In the last few months I have had to iron out some problems, mainly wiring issues but all in all if I had it to do all over I would still have swapped my ATV for it for the simple fact that it runs excellent (Maybe a Lil Rich) and has an excellent body and drive train. I have upgraded the interior with the interior from a 2001 model Z and it looks really good. Anyways, I'm looking for some bolt on add ons to help give it some more pep. I don't have a big budget, so I'm hoping some of you guys can give me some suggestions as to what I could do to get upto maybe 300 to 375 RWHP. I dont race but I like to play around now and then. I do have a cold air intake but as far as I know everything else is stock. Any help and suggestions are appreciated.....
    Thanks,
    Stephen

    M4?

Full bolt-ons and a good tune will get you close to the 300 mark at the rear wheels. Any more than that will require opening up the engine.

Long tubes, full exhaust, 1.6 roller rockers, maybe underdrive pulley kit

Pretty basic stuff should help you achieve that goal.
First make sure it's running as well as it can be, fresh plugs, wires, O2s
Long Tube headers + ORY pipe
            3"Catback exhaust
            Smooth intake elbow
            Throttle body air foil
            1.6 RRs

If you really don't care about the number and want to make it more fun I suggest a nice torque converter and some taller gears

Thanks everyone for your input...i have been thinking, im half tempted to just buy a good low mile LS1 and do a complete swap out. i have been reading and everyone seems to love the LS as opposed to the LT. By the way, the LSX you mentioned, i am not that familiar with it but going by the response from you guys its quite a beast. Is ebay a good place to find deals on ls1's or would it be advisable to try and find one locally? If i do go ahead with the swap, can any of you give me any pointers or things to look out for? Any and all help is appreciated. Also, i currently have a good m4 but would i be better off to purchase the complete deal or would my current tranny be ok?
              Thanks,
              Stephen

                A4? Assuming you mean a 4l60e.
I am not 100% sure, but I think the bolt pattern is different on the LS1 4l60e.
I know it has the removable bell housing.

If your goals are to have fun, not spend a lot of money, and make 300-375rwhp then you should capitalize on what you've got.
The LS platform is great, but you have to pay to play.

Heck even a 5.3l swap wouldnt be bad. Alot of people are starting to lean that way. There cheap (I find them all the time for $300-500 ) and theres plenty then find a donner car for the harness and accessories. May even have money left over for a cam or such.

Sleeper, i considered that but with me being disabled and no income but my wife's, that's really not an option at this time. Guess I will just make the best of what I have. I just added new plugs, wires and a new CAI. As far as headers, cam, lifters etc, can someone recommend what brands and duration, size, etc? About the only extra cash I have is what I make doing auto repairs from my home here so I'm having to do this stuff one part at a time so any and all help and suggestions, info is greatly appreciated. Thanks again everyone for your input.
                        Thanks,
                        Stephen
