Look at Joels dyno. 372rwhp through a M6 lightly modified. T56 drivetrain roughly eats 13% so thats ~420bhp. Now slap some heads on it, possibly a stroker kit and lay down some power.

I'm definitely not a serious pro at mechanical work.Originally posted by Sleeper View PostThe engine swap is bound to be a nightmare unless you're a serious pro at mechanical work.
I barely knew anything about engines or even how to do a brake job prior to doing my engine swap.

1st you need to decide if you are going to stay with LT1 and up HP, or go with LS1 swap and up LS1 HP. If you do LS1 swap you'll need: Engine, k frame, engine harness, LS PCM, and trans, thats Leaving engine stock.
You need to figure out How much your going to spend. Cheapest way is upgrade your LT1. Heads, cam, roller rockers, push rods, injectors, and tune, will set you back 1500 to 2500 or more depending on how well you shop items.sigpic

Oh i didnt know ud need a new k member for an LS? I'm more than likely goin to keep the lt1 and upgrade. I want to keep the reliability factor of bein able to drive it daily during the summer n put my 1 year old in it while still having enough power to b fun at the strip on the weekends...Originally posted by Plum Nuts View Post1st you need to decide if you are going to stay with LT1 and up HP, or go with LS1 swap and up LS1 HP. You mean like a 396" twin turbo hitting 30psi spinning 8000rpm on shaftmounted rockers? Yeah that on a LT1 might hit 300whp.Originally posted by Yoshi94Mines about an inch bigger than Kyles. Sell that gas hog 2500 to me for like 2000 bucks. Then sell the Trailblazer and you can afford a build LT1.

Yeah the LT1 and LS1 motor mounts and where they sit in the engine bay (height wise) are different. I'd be talking to Advanced Induction and see what they can get you for a heads and cam package.

I was thinking the same thing... until I realized that the ****ing accessories/oil pan for a truck motor in an F-body would set me back another grand, plus the k-member, plus the steering rack, plus getting the correct transmission, plus etc. etc. Really, unless you want more than 420rwhp or are swapping in a really nice LS motor (or my dream for a true driver, a stock LS3) I just don't think the swap is worth it over h/c/i for an LT1.Originally posted by nascarnate326 View Post5.3 swap. Throw in a cam.
It can be done on the cheap, look on tech.
