  • anyone have any sbc heads they want to get rid of

As of last night i found that i cracked the heads on my truck, my friend has a set of tbi heads from an 87 suburban but if i can stay away from tbi heads itd be great, so does anyone have a ready to run set they are willing to part with on a limited budget, or just want to get rid of preferably by tonight?

Umm...all sbc heads have the bolt locations there.

Center bolt or perimeter applies to the style of valve cover. Center bolt is 87+ which means the four intake manifold bolts are angled differently. I assume you want to keep the stock intake manifold for the time being.

You won't find good heads for less than 200. Those things are zero miles, 2.02/1.60 valves, 76cc chambers. It cost about 300 just to freshen up a set of heads!

The TBI heads are still on his motor I think. And yes, probably the same. For what it's worth, I just chucked a running set into the scrap metal pile this winter.

I have a set of heads laying around that came off my '87 IROC. If ya want 'em, come and get 'em, they're yours for free. Well, yours for the cost of the gas you'll use coming to get them. I'm tired tripping over them.

                  Interested? Shoot me a PM.

There ya go, Tyler. LB9 heads work pretty well with some mild porting (focus on exhaust side) and should bump the compression a bit. Valves are a little small at 1.84/1.50. They will handle the LT1 cam just fine.
