  • Block to cowl clearance on 4th gen?

I am trying to find the dimension of the clearance between the top of the block to the bottom of the cowl (clearance available for the intake). I seem to remember it in Brent's thread for his intake, but looked through it and couldn't find it. Does anyone know the dimension off hand? Or a link to the information? Thanks

I would ROUGHLY say 9-9.5". My Vic jr was 7.6" friom my valley cover to the top of the intake. With the engine in I had about 2 and 1/4" left to play with to fit an elbow. Take it for what it is worth but 9-9.5" max is all I would say you get.

Please somebody correct me if I am wrong but I am just trying to help him out.

Lol...cant believe you couldnt find any good info in there. I know its there somewhere.....(I couldnt find it myself after 30 pages!!!). My intake is 8.75 tall....Maggies are slightly taller but require some cowl adjustment. Have seen sheet metal intakes at 8.5 fit without any adjustments....so probably pretty close to 9" like Matt says.

Are you looking for a dimension to the hem flange or at the bottom of the wiper tray?

Lol, well I looked through the one on here, AND the two on tech and couldn't find the dimensions. BlackBirdDaddy says he would get the dimension in your Bling thread, but I didn't see it.

And the dimension the the bubble in the bottom of the cowl, I would assume that is the wiper tray? The intake I a researching is 8.4" tall from the top of the valley to the top of the back of the plenum.
