Yup I could not Niteshade my 3rd brake light without it running no matter how thin the coats were.

      • I can't believe that everyone had so much trouble with the third brake light. I have tinted mine with Niteshade twice without a problem.

        • Maybe if you use adhesion promoter first?

          • I don't know what to tell you as far as which wheels to go with, but I would stick with either Chrome, Polished, or Machined wheels, all black would be a bit much. . .

On a similar note, OE Wheels has some VERY nice wheels, their customer service is top-notch, and the quality of their product is second to none. Much better product than you'd expect, given some of the prices. I ordered my current wheels from them in February, didn't see them in person until I came home in April, but I was VERY impressed with the quality. No issues mounting them, and they still look like new to this day. They'll be back on my car as soon as I get around to ordering the tires I want for them, 10.5" wide rims with 275's looks a little awkward, I'm going to break out the BFH and order some 315's for the back, and 275's for the front instead of the 245's that are on there now.

Lower the car, but be warned, if you have long tubes or plan to install a set, don't expect to have a whole lot of ground clearance. I have PS LT's on my '93 with an Eibach Pro-Kit, and I scrape on EVERYTHING. I'm thinking some kind of air-adjustable setup would be perfect, but I'm going to try to get the pipes tucked up under the car a little tighter.

The body shop is doing great work, from what I see. I can't wait to see the finished product. It's amazing how much difference just some tint, wheels, and a good detailing can do for a car, you're going the whole 9 yards and repainting it. I'm VERY excited to see what you do with the car!

Oh, and I guess we can't rag on you too bad about driving around in Dad's car anymore, before too long, he's going to want to be driving around in yours. lol

very true and if it doesnt want to work after a couple tries, dont keep trying or youre just going to damage the battery. Think of it like a laptop or cell phone battery. Those take hours to charge and they do a lot less work. Point is, a battery is only going to charge so fast regardless of how much voltage you throw at it. If its been run dead it needs a long deep cycle charge to bring it back to 100%.

              • I've been thinking, you could just get taller tires and lower it to fill the wheel gap and still have clearance...but all that would cure is wheel gap.

                    • Or if you heat it up first to try and expand the plastic a bit.

                      • Just dropped off the tail light to the painter's. He said it won't be a problem. He uses a special adhesion promoter for that kind of plastic... So we should be fine. He'd never seen anything like what happened to the tail lights either. Car will be going into the booth tomorrow.

Like normal window tint film? I've tried using it before on my truck's fog lights... peeled off after a couple months

                            • have your painter spray them with black and clear mixed, best tint job you can get.

Personally I'm not having any lenses tinted, but yes I agree that is the best way. Alan (SSON20S) painted Kolin's tail lights with nightshades, then cleared over them with actual automotive grade clear from a paint gun - they look great too
