Passenger side exhaust manifold

So we put a 350 into the lemons ride last weekend and are having some issues with the passenger side exhaust manifold from the 305 meeting up to the 350. When we try to install the exhaust manifold the way it meets up with the Y pipe it wants to skew the exhaust manifold like 15 degrees counter clockwise to the exhaust manifold ports. See the pic (yes I know its ugly - lemon motor but its strong).

Is that a ball and socket style y-pipe and manifold, if it is, they have quite a bit of "wiggle" room.? I'd bolt the manifold down first and then fuss with the pipes.

Oh we wiggled it! We started with the exhaust manifold attached but that little donut between the exhaust manifold and y-pipe was making us crazy. Also the studs we less friendly than hoped for. The whole operation seemed to require 8 hands while we only had 2.

That little donut can be a pain sometimes. If you have a torch, just heat up the y-pipe and bend it a little. It helps to stick a long bar down the pipe to give you some leverage.
