    Anything's possible with a little inginuity. Just because it doesnt slip right in and you cant buy all the parts off the shelf doesnt mean its not do-able.

    However I'd have to agree though that you wont touch the parts needed for 1500. Or even 3,000.

        Well i know the parts are gonna be added costs, but for a turn key engine, not rebuilt, not intercooled he said 1200 because i know him, if he didn't know me it would be around 2500 for an engine, believe me he told me this, i actaully talked to the guy insomnya and thats exactly what he said, just because its for cheap doesn't mean its not true

              Grand national motors are not as hard to find as you may think. Keep an eye out on turbobuick.com and turbobuicks.com in the for sale section. Also, there is a big G-body parts dealer on the east coast that you can probably ask about on any of those 2 sites and find a number for him. He has TONS of stuff for Grand Nationals.
              Only problem you will run into with this swap is the heads and your AC. You can do what I did and route the downpipe under near the a-arm / crossmember (lose some clearance this way though) or you can just ditch the A/C and run it the right way...OR you can get 89 TTA heads (they are actually not hard to find since they used them on a bunch of motors) but you also need to change pistons since they are a different for the tta heads. But you can get those at like johnsperformance.com or any of the turbo buick websites. But that way you can keep your A/C if you need it. I kept it just because this is still a daily driver for me, not a race car. Ooo, also you will need an 89 TTA gauge cluster if you want EVERYTHING on your gauge cluster to work. I think there are ways around it but I do not know them as of right now. You can get pretty much everything to work right with the stock cluster that came with your car but the rpm tach. I am sure there is a way around it though. You can use an 89 TTA wiring harness for pretty much direct plug n play, or you can use a 86-87 GN wiring harness and I think you just have to do a little splicing with that.
              Go with an 86-87 motor. They will work the best and cause the least amount of swap problems.

              This swap is not cheap if you want to do it right the first time though. Coating of the piping, rebuilding the motor, drivetrain to handle it, (fyi: you can use a 200r4 or a 700r4, tci makes an adaptar for the 700r4). But it is a unique swap and you can go single digits with these motors and they respond so well to performance parts. I love the motor so far and look forward to seeing what it can do when I get it broken in. But if you find a decent stock running motor for cheap and that is good enough for you than throw that in and with a little modifcation can be a cheap swap. I did a lot of work to my motor, piping, and other stuff though so my swap wasn't cheap.

                I found a guy who might sell me a atage 1 motor out of a intercooled gn. It was rebuilt like 1000 miles ago and it would be a turn key engine. I would get the ecm, the harness, and i would have to buy other things like a bigger intercooler, and motormounts, and i woulnd't run the stock manifolds so i would get headers. As far as the AC, i could really care less about keeping it because I never use it unless I'm taking a girl on a date and its hot out, but that doesn't happen much so yeah i don't need it. Oh yeah Insoynya, that guy (turbo91bird) did a swap. And he just said GN motors are not hard to come by. So there he pretty much just proved you wrong.

                  Well they aren't as easy to find than a small block chevy but they aren't impossible to find either. Just keep an eye out for them and call around and you can find an 86-87 GN motor. My buddy was moving to a stage motor and didn't want his 87 motor anymore so I took it off his hands for 200 bucks. Came with everything.

                    Yeah what I'm looking at getting, if the guys other 87 block is alright, is what he called an sg1. What do you think, 2800 for a rebulit motor, harness, ecm, all the pulleys, and installation. I think thats a really fair price. I know i'd have to get a new/used tranny, most likely a 2004r, mounts, and maybe a driveshaft, but i don't know, would i need a new drive shaft? And all the gauges i'd need to monitor the turbo and such. so i'll probably be looking at anywhere from 30-4500 for everything if i want to do it right.

                      You will need a new driveshaft and probably torque arm if you are going from a 700r4 to a 200r4 since the lengths are different to the rear end. Also, if you are replacing the trans, I would get a stall converter that matches your turbo you are going to run. Are you just going to run the stock turbo? I wouldn't since there are a good # of aftermarket turbos that run great with the stock motor. But yes, 2800 for all of that + installation is a very good price. Just make sure you don't go with the poly engine mounts...I did and the ride takes some getting used too.

                        hmm i was told by someone to get those mounts, but yeah i would run the stock turbo for a while just because i would be broke. That would probably be a next winter type project. Stock turbo would be good enough for me for the time being. I've never had a fast car, so i think that swap would make my car fast enough for about one summer then i would change it out.
