Sometime in June or July I plan on swapping my 2.8 for probably a 305. How much would this run me? For like extra stuff I might need to get

why a 305, you'll need a trans, cooling system,motor mounts, and depending on engine may need a few other things I've done swaps for under $100 but had almost everything I needed. I would do a 350 unless you want an under powered engine that has little real performance potential (most people who do make power with a 305 destroke it and rev the piss out of it or add forced induction or notrous)

The 350 would definitly be a more worth while swap than the 5.0
You'd need all the same parts to swap either in, new cooling, mounts, trans, etc. Plus you'll have way more fun with the 5.7l

if you have the engine , and trans figure a couple hundred dollars if you don't have them then a couple grand

it all depends. u can put an lt1 in it for instance. but its alot of work and more money downt he road.
i took my 93. 3.4L and put a carbed 358 in it.
you im asuming have a 700r4 trans. it might be cheaper to get a new one thast already built with a shift kit.
then to have urs rebuilt and a shift kit installed.
so about 1000 for a built 700r4. not sure how much it would cost to have it rebuild and a kit installed.
the engine can be newhere between 50 bux-10000 dependong on how much power u want to produce.
mine was 3000
i make roughly 500 at the crank. a lil bit more once i finish tuning it.
just buy a crate 350. ull still need a bunch of shet unless its complete with carb and all.
the 700r4 will bolt up to virtually all the engines. the v6 and v8 one if im not mistaken was the same. unlike in the 4L60E's
i know my old 4L60 Hydro was the same as the v8s.
it will bolt up to the 350.
push come to shove buy a built th350 trans for like 700 with a decent converter.
mine has a real nice positive shift from 1-2 and a really nice 2-3 in giving it half gas i went sideways in the 1-2 and the 2-3 spun em
my engine isnt complety broke in yet.
neway newhere from a couple hunder to do the swap. to a couple grand all dependso n what parts you have and what u need
i have a set of motor mounts off a third gen u can have for 15 bux. they are like brand new the guy i got em from used them fro like 20 miles and decided to change them.
because hes running a 9 sec car.04 dodge ram HemiGtx 001/433
