Well, my engine project has been going on (and off) for about 3 years now. I got started, then life happened, yada yada....Was going to finish it last year, but I had to blow my budget on surgery.
Anyways, things have gone smoother this summer, and all of the major components have been installed...just nickel and dime crap I need now.
I've also included a few pics of the car in its current state. It's getting the 305 TPI swapped for a 385 stroker that I built using Golen Engine's mini-ram stroker long block as a guide.
The interior is almost finished on the car, with my last mods being a new headliner/sail panels and leather seats from a '95 4th gen (driver side power).
As for the engine:
'87 roller block
Eagle rotating assembly
Mogul pistons +6cc
Comp Magnum 224/224 .525" lift
GMPP hydraulic roller lifters
1.6 roller rockers
Patriot aluminum heads 2.05/1.60 dual springs
Summit billet computer dist, MSD wires
Moroso 6 quart pan
TPIS Mini-ram, Accel 26lb injectors
I'm currently getting quotes for a 700r4 rebuild with a shift kit install and a 2000 stall converter. Someone gave me an extra tranny for free....so I can throw everything in on swap day. My plan is to get the engine in and broken in before winter, when I'll have it painted. I'm keeping it the same color, but I want it to last this time. The valve covers aren't on yet due to so minor clearance issues
I'm thinking of getting my tune from pcmforless, if anyone has any experience with that.
This is gonna be a cruising car with freeway power....I have no intentions of fast starts from a stop or anything.
