Don't really post on the forums much / at all, but I figure why not. 3 years ago approx the trans went on my RS, lost first gear. So instead of doing a sensible thing and just fixing the trans, why not throw thousands of dollars into an engine swap. Makes sense right? Did some hunting around and found a 2000 LS1(43k miles), fuel / brake lines, tank, pump, cradle, harness, throttle cable, ect ect.. all as a package deal for just over $1,600. The car is an auto and to save the hassle of swapping even more things into the car that don't belong I stuck with the auto trans and picked up a 4L60E completely rebuilt and a new case. (the cheapest 5 or 6 speed I could find was 2g's with 70k+ on them) Also picked up an aluminum drive shaft for cheap too. So this was the start of my project.
Before the engine swap. Looks faster than it was

And.... the V6 to go with all those looks

About 3 hours after starting the tear down the car looked like so

Motor, trans, drive shaft, tank, fuel / brake lines, Cradle, harness

Mounted the plastic tank, getting rid of the old one, also put in the new fuel lines.

Trans bolted to the motor, cradle mounted

Over the following winter we didn't do anything with the car, so from all the sitting a mouse got into the car while it sat under a car cover and tore up the carpet, one of the back seats, and just crapped and pissed everywhere.(managed to kill it this spring about a month after we found this problem) The interior had to be completly gutted and cleaned multiple times, minor things repaired ect.

Motor in place, new wiring harness put in, made to fit my car specifically, headers put in

Now we are up to date for today, some things done previous did not have pictures so don't mind the time lapse to recently. Today was figuring out all the wires to the dash, and what is and what is not going to work with my gauge cluster. Also making a harness to plug into the fuel pump and connect to the body harness. Which things are Computer controlled and which is standalone between the 2 different year systems is the situation now.
