I'm excited to get going on this. I'm picking up the LM7 for less than I'm selling the 4-cylinder out of my old project for.

Well, my dad is fully behind me swapping the Camaro. In fact, he's scanning a Summit catalog helping me look for a cam.

I'm too damn responsible for my own good... Got all excited about the build and swap today but thinking about it I really can't justify the expense right now. I might still buy the engine though, so if anyone wants a set of 5.3 heads to bump their compression a bit let me know.

A 224 cam with stock heads will make some good power cheap. Good luck with the build.

That's exactly the cam I was looking to use. Either a 224 or 228, 112LSA.

I'm going to run some more numbers today, put together as detailed of a budget as I can and see what I come up with. The killer is going to be the transmission, which will run me about $1,000 on its own. I think I'm still going to pick up the engine and start the build, but as far as everything else... I just don't know. If anything it will be a LONG, SLOW process so I don't spend too much money all at once. That way maybe my girlfriend will let me keep my nuts.

You have to let yourself be able to spend money on the things you want. I went and jumped on a Z28 that I now have and don't regret it one bit.

I'm doing it. My buddy has an LS6 manifold and ported TB, that was the deal maker.
