LT1 swap wiring, etc questions

Do all LT1's use the VATS?
and can VATS be tuned out easily (mail-in tune)?

Also, is the ABS wired into the PCM or is it separate?

Vehicle would be a base S10 2.2 (fuel injected), 5spd(manual EVERYTHING, no ABS, no AC, etc)

If it can't be tuned out (which I think it can) you can trick the computer into thinking the loop is closed.

There was a local guy out in Saline that swapped an LT1 into a newer S10 Xtreme, Let me see if I can't find him. He has since sold the truck, IIRC, but he did most of the work himself.
