  • 4th gen to 3rd gen question

Will the Kmember from a 4th Gen Swap into a 3rd Gen? I was hoping to just put the Kmember from the Donor Car Right in to my Third Gen to take advantage of the Bigger Brakes and the Rack?

    It not What will swap?

No, front suspensions between 3rd and 4th gens are different setups. 3rd gen is a strut and 4th gen is coil over shock. You can make the brakes work but I'm not sure what's required to do it though.

Many companies make tubular K-members with rack and pinion mounts.. Theres plenty of guys including myself with 4th gen brakes that will bolt up with some brackets. The biggest issue I've heard about is the lack or steering radius when you upgrade to the rack.. to me.. its just not worth the weight savings if you go from U turns to W turns...

As stated, the k-member swap won't work, but there is a lot of aftermarket stuff available. A good place to look for ideas is http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/
