A lot of what I've heard is that by the time you buy all the parts and such and then upgrade, it almost seems like it'd be better to just buy a v8. I don't know what I'm doing, either turbo'ing and beefing my 3.4L or upgrading to v8, not sure.

Yeah its nothing impossible but it definatly requires lots of searcing and time to tear apart and reassemble.

well I deont know because if you can get a very low milege v8 it would be good, I see 4 gen v8 with 120,000miles and there still being sold for $5500 a litle more a less maybe but pretty much around 5 or 6 gs. I dont think a car with that many miles is much good you know. they start to lose compression and horse power along with fuel miles and things just get worn out.

brian if i were you and planned a v8 swap, i would spray that 3.4 prior to the swap. might as well have some fun with it before you yank it (it wont be worth anything anyway). NOS kits are pretty cheap too. obviously only do this if you have the funds and/or engine ready for the swap.

well from what i recall..brian's trans is already on borrow'd time! and i know a V6 rear end isn't exactly "up to par" brand new anyways...i would suggest do all the "supporting mods" before the spray or turbo....im almost ready for more power...all i really need is a strong rear end...but me being not patient at all...i will add more power...blow my rear end again and worry about a 9inch when the 3.73's blow out lol

I dont agree with you there...the LS1 motors are very durable and don't lose much of anything even after high mileage...if the car is maintained well, and the body is in good shape, 5-6k is not a bad deal...I have saw junk cars sell for more...

For all the headache and hassle of swapping all the stuff from a V6 to a V8 you might better sell the V6 and buy a V8 car. Not worth the the time and effort. I'd rather pull a high mile motor and rebuild it than mess with swapping everything over. You'll always have gremlins that'll come back to haunt you. Unless you're building a full on drag car I wouldn't bother swapping to a V8.
