I have done many swaps, and helped do a few too...The most interesting was with my my friend Rick...we swapped a Cadillac 502 into a 1979 Buick Regal...Nothing but a lunch packer after that!

Twice I've swapped newer motors of the same CI into an older car of a different model. First one was a late 80's Buick something FWD that originally had a 3.0, the woman bought a later model 3.0 V6 out of a pontiac that had totally different brackets and sensors. That was fun.
My cousin roached the 3.1 in his 91 Grand Prix, so I got a 25k 3.1 out of a 93 GP for him and swapped it.
Swapped in a 355 that I built making around 300 hp into an 86 firebird that a college kid threw a rod out the oil pan of the 305 in.
Swapped engines 3 times in one week on my 83 chevy truck cause the 305 in it died, the one I bought for it lasted 3 days and siezed up (sat with no intake for a year, guy didn't tell me till after)
A friend of mine had a 85 chevy long box 4x4 with 35" Super swampers and a 3" body lift that needed a motor. So we put in a 250k stock 350 out of his parents suburban that got rolled that winter. Then we took it out and ran it through the mud hole in one of his dad's fields for a couple hours running 4k+ RPM's most of the time, lol. I think he sold the truck with that motor in it still running.
That's probably all you guys wanna hear about, most of the rest have been straight small block swaps in different vehicles.

Took a 1990 F-150 4x4 and put a 1977 351M, c6 trans and np205 tranfer case in it after i lifted it 6". Had to make all the mounts and cross members.
1989 z-24 swapped the 2.8 for a 1993 3.1L, changed trans. to a 93 model and had to rewire the trans.
1984 f-150, removed the old motor for a newer 5.0 w/ roller cam.
Also did many swaps on chevettes, olds, etc.
The best one was a 1982 Camaro- i took out the stock 2.5L and put in a 350 from a Caprice. That 2.5L was a tad slow, lol.

Ive done quite a few but the oddest ones are always the TPI motors into 46-48 fords. We've done it three times, first a 305 TPI, then a corvette TPI and now a TPI intake'd truck motor.
Sure looks nice sitting in that bay though.
Sitting next to it is a 47 convertible with an FBod LT1/700R4Last edited by MattODoom; July 22nd, 2006, 10:28 AM.
