  • My engine swap WILL pay for itself?

SO I have been daily driving the IROC since I sold my truck....I've never bothered to check my gas mileage while doing local driving around town cause I usually do it so infrequently....up until now. I have always kept track of my gas mileage when I take it on trips just for kicks and it always gets 29-30mpg.
I just burned through a whole tank of "in-town" driving (none of which was overly gas sipping type cautious driving) and still managed to pull down 20mpg.....I was very suprised...I figured I would see something like 15-16mpg.

So I figure with gas prices the way they are, my engine swap WILL pay for itself in due time!

Mine's definately better since I seafoamed it.

Except when I decide to drive like a maniac - which is rare...still, didn't move the needle a lot...if any...

Surprised are we? I hit 32.5x mpg with my trip back and forth to school last weekend. 90% of which is highway though.

I need to get an LS1. The gas savings along would be worth it.
