  • New Plans AGain ;)

I have a plan for my TA. My plans are as of now to drive it til end of summer. By the end of summer buy a 1500 car that will last me through the winter. In the meantime I'm going to be buying the parts to do a LS1 ENGINE conversion. I am going to need the engine, 6 Speed trans, K member, fuel rails from a 97 Corvette (EDIT: I CAN JUST USE A LS1 FUEL RAIL AS WELL) , maybe a raditor, gauges, pcm, wiring harnes and maybe some AC crap. But i'm going to slowly grab the basics. If ANY of you hear about a sweet deal with ANY of these parts, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! You can even call me. My number is 313-806-3530. Now i'm trying to keep this thread small so please only post in here if you hear of something. Thanks guys!

Thats sweet ! but the fact of the matter is it will cost you more to do this conversion than to buy an LS1 Fbody its self

Not Nessisarily. I would have my old engine and trans to sell. People are always looking for a good deal and i'm willing to give a good deal if someone will give me a good deal! Piece by piece it shouldn't be bad. Hopefully by fall/winter i will have everything to start this goin.

there's a pick'n'pull junkyard at 8 and schoenner, a guy pulled a perfectly good LS1 engine out of a 4th gen for $250. a nice LS1 fbody would be what, 4 grand at the least? So that means a good 3750 left.

Find something good first, then make a down payment until you round up the tools and time to get it. Let us know if you find anything, and I mean anything worthwhile.

HAHA parts galore yea u will not find anything good off any f-body, now if you have ANY average car this place is heaven.
I can tell you exactly what he saw and it was 3 thrid gen TA's(1 complety striped, 1 w/ interior, and 1 w/ engine and misc.) then when he firstwalked into the GM section he got VERY happy seeing a 98+ camaro in the very front then he found out it was a 3.4 then he found out it was a 94 w/ a LS1 front end. then he walked around just for the hell of it most likey ending up in the back looking at the "old car" section

                        am i right?? lol

anything wrong w/ ur lt1 how many miles????

I know Detroit might be sellinghis engine soon to go bgger. So maybe he could hook me up. But seeing as he just got done with the heads and cam, i'm thinking he is goiong to keep it for a while

Yeah I'm gonna be keeping it until I save up enough cash, which may be next winter at the earliest but probably not unless I find a good deal on a forged shortblock.
