well most of you should remember my 283 i had forsale well nobody wanted it so i decided to use it as a learning project so it went from this full engine down to a bare block in about 2 hours. everything looks great inside the only thing that is bad is 1 cylinder has a very small lip so i am going to do a lite hone on all of the cylinders and a piston sliped out of my hand and hit the floor and it cracked. all the crank bearing are perfect and all the cam bearings are perfect. i am replacing the pistons, ring, bearing, gaskets, oil pump, timing chain, plugs, and i am having the heads redone. then i am going to paint it and dress it up put it in my car and run the heck out of it. is there anything that might be tricky when putting all of the stuff in the engine. any tricks on the pistons and rings. and any tricks on the cam bearings.

    Cam bearing are a bugger!!!
Have the engine shop do it and then when they clean the block they will get any junk the the cam bearings push out.

If you are doing file fit rings get a ring grinder/file that way you keep your ends squrae.

They sell guids that help drop the piston/rod assem. in the cylinders and guid them around the crank journals so you don't put a gouge in it.

Take your time, mark ALL your caps so that every thing gets back with the right piece.
