i get to take the engine and tranny out of a 90's buick lesabre but i dont know how to the drive shafts off the tranny so that i can get it all out at once. i am going to give it a rebuild and a new water pump and put it in a cooler car made by gm but the only cool cars that this would fit in that i know of are grand prix and grand am. let me know of some cool cars i can put this in. it is a 3800 auto.

it is a 1992 buick lesabre dont know about the gen of the motor but it has been sittin in the yard since sometime in the winter and i thought it would give me more exsperience under the hood of the newer cars. and no the camaro is not done i am so ticked with that thing i havent touched it in a few days other than 20 min of work on the body. and i am really confused on what i am doin engine wise with the camaro.

i couldnt find that 305 i saw for $100.
If the lesabre is a '92 it is a series I, i would look for a beretta...probably the sportiest car of that time frame, i believe they came with 3.8 liters, maybe not.
i dont know much but i would think engine work on that lesabre is going to be alot harder than a 3rd generation camaro.

oh and i can put that 305 back in the camaro and rebuild the carb and go but eventually i am putting a 350 or something bigger than a 305 in the car i was trying to figure out if i wanted to get the bigger engine now or save up a lot more money and get something that will kick some butt.

are you talking about a gasket set?Originally posted by beardy2 View Posti can do a master rebuild and get the new water pump for under $150
machine work alone is well over 150 for a rebuild, unless do you have acess to equipment?
